The Almond-Bancroft School District is looking for a high school English teacher to join our team. We are a rural district located approximately 25 miles southeast of Stevens Point and 22 miles southwest of Waupaca.
The district is small, with approximately 180 students in grades PK-5, 80 students in grades 6-8, and 110 students in grades 9-12. All the students in grades PK-12 share one building, which underwent a new addition and extensive remodeling project that was completed in the Fall of 1999. Despite our small size, we offer students a wide variety of academic programs and extra-curricular activities.
We strive to provide our students with the skills they need to thrive in the educational setting. We provide one to one chromebooks, but we also know that technology alone cannot create a good learning environment. Quality teachers who can connect with their students are the most important factor in a learner's education. The person hired for this position would teach a variety of English classes in cooperation with our other English teacher. Our freshmen take a year of English 9. Our sophomores take a year of English 10. All students must take a semester of Oral Communications. The remainder of the schedule is filled with a variety of courses. In past years, courses have included Dystopian Literature, Creative Writing, Dramatic Literature, and American Literature. We are flexible!
Our staff is a wonderful mix of new and veteran teachers, whose goal is to provide an educational experience that allows our young people to continue on whichever path they choose after graduation.
