REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous food service experience, preferably in a school setting.
  • Knowledge of food preparation methods, portion control, proper food handling and storage, inventory control and food ordering.
  • Knowledge and experience in cash handling, cashiering. Good math and accounting skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety laws and regulations.
  • Ability to deliver exceptional customer service in a school setting.
  • Ability to communicate with students, parents, and staff in an appropriate and respectful manner.
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to work for improvement.
  • Ability to follow the requirements of school food service.
  • Valid ServSafe Certification

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES::

  • Serve meals to students in a friendly and pleasant manner.
  • Assist in preparation and stocking of food and service of school lunch.
  • Maintain high sanitary and safety standards in the kitchen and storage areas.
  • Accurate cash handling and accounting for daily sales, including performing cashier duties.
  • Perform dishwasher duties. Properly clean pots, pans, utensils, and equipment daily.
  • Receive and handle food and kitchen items as needed.
  • Work with the Director of Food and Nutrition Services toward effective and efficient food service operation.
  • Perform duties at different sites in the district as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Food and Nutrition Services.

HOURS OF EMPLOYMENT: 4 hours per day as needed (Follows school schedule) $13.26 per hour.
