High School Girls Golf Coach

MSD of Shakamak is seeking a passionate, student-centered leader to serve as the High School Girls Golf Coach. We are looking for an individual who is committed to developing student-athletes both on and off the course while fostering a culture of teamwork, sportsmanship, accountability, and excellence.

Essential Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and supervise all aspects of the high school girls golf program.
• Teach fundamental golf skills while promoting continuous athletic and personal growth.
• Build positive relationships with student-athletes, families, staff, officials, and the community.
• Promote academic success, leadership, character development, and good sportsmanship.
• Organize and conduct practices consistent with IHSAA regulations and district expectations.
• Supervise student-athletes during practice, contests, and team travel.
• Maintain equipment and assist with inventory and program needs.
• Work collaboratively with the Athletic Director and school administration.
• Comply with all MSD of Shakamak policies and procedures and all Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) rules and regulations.
• Complete all required coaching certifications and professional development.

Qualifications

• Previous coaching and/or competitive golf experience preferred.
• Knowledge of the rules, strategies, and techniques of competitive golf.
• Demonstrated ability to positively motivate and mentor high school students.
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, staff, officials, and community members.
• Must successfully complete all district employment requirements, including a criminal background check.
• Must meet all IHSAA coaching requirements and any required certifications before the season begins.
