Band Director & Music Teacher

Centerville-Abington Community Schools seeks a student-centered educator to serve as High School/Junior High Band Director and Music Teacher.

Application Deadline: July 17, 2026 Start Date: August 2026

Applicants must hold (or be eligible for) a valid Indiana Teaching License in Secondary or K-12 Instrumental Music and General Music. Marching band experience is required.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Teach Beginning 7th Grade Band, 8th Grade Band, HS Concert Band, HS Jazz Band, and JH General Music.
• Prepare students for concerts, ISSMA contests, and other performances.
• Coordinate marching band, athletic performances, contests, and special trips.
• Collaborate with Music Boosters and Color Guard.
• Direct the summer marching band program
• Assist with graduation ceremonies
• Serve on school committees and sponsor student activities.

Application Requirements: A complete application includes a letter of interest, résumé, completed online application, Indiana teaching license (or proof of eligibility), and college transcripts.
