$44,557.00 - $71,673.00 per year (Based on NCDPI State Salary Schedule plus NCCA Supplements as applicable)

NCCA-HS is an online free public charter school committed to preparing students through virtual learning for success in tomorrow's world. We aim to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary for success in post-secondary education and / or the profession of their choosing. NCCA-HS traditionally is one of the largest virtual high school programs in North Carolina averaging (1,300) 9th - 12th grade students annually and a graduating class of 270+.

Job / Teaching Assignment Overview:

NCCA-HS has a position available in our Multi Tiered System of Support (MTSS) Program for the 2026 - 27 school year. This position will have responsibilities supporting individual students and small groups for our 9th and / or 10th grade students requiring intensive support in Math 1 and / or Math 2. The support content will align with the NC Math 1 and / or Math 2 Standard Course of Study as determined, published, and expected by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI).

We are seeking a dedicated Math 1 and / or Math 2 Teacher with proven results in Math 1 with regard to State "Performance" and "Growth" in the Math 1 End of Course (EOC) state assessment. Qualified candidates will be asked to share both Performance results (from NCTest) and Growth results (from EVAAS) from the most recent years of the state assessment.

The Math Interventionist will be responsible for providing engaging, student centered instructional support to 9th Grade and / or 10th Grade high school students as individuals and in small groups in Math. The instruction will be delivered synchronously Monday - Thursday, and asynchronously on Fridays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging support lessons aligned with the North Carolina Math 1 / 2 curriculum as determined, published, and expected by NCDPI
  • Maintain accurate student records, assessments, and required documentation
  • Participate in professional development and stay updated on NC Math 1 / 2 Standards, content, and trends
  • Engage with parents, colleagues, and the community to support student success
  • Support the overall NCCA-HS program by serving and supporting the high school program with regard to field trips, parent-teacher conferences, in-office meetings, special events, etc.
  • Be an active member and contributor of the HS Math Department's weekly Professional Learning Community (PLC), and weekly sub-PLC specific to Math 1 content

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree (minimum)
  • Licensure: North Carolina Math 9-12 teaching license (will not consider a North Carolina Math 6-9 teaching license).
  • Experience: 3+ years of teaching experience (Preferred)
  • State Assessment Results: Proven results in Math 1 with regard to both State "Performance" (NCTEST) and "Growth" (EVAAS) in the Math 1 End of Course (EOC) state assessment
  • Excellent communication, classroom management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience teaching in a virtual or remote setting (Preferred)
  • Familiarity with learning management systems such as Canvas (Preferred)
  • MUST be a North Carolina resident to be considered for hire, must maintain North Carolina residency while employed by NCCA

Work Location:

  • Hybrid / Remote approximately 90-95% per month. School Office located in Durham, NC 27713

Schedule:
