    High School Math Teacher or Secondary Special Education Teacher
     
    Pay Range: $70,000–$80,000 per year
     
    RFK Academy, part of RFK Community Alliance, is seeking a passionate and dedicated High School Math Teacher or Secondary Special Education Teacher to join our team in Springfield, MA.

    As a Math Teacher, you will play an essential role in delivering engaging, differentiated instruction while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to support each student's academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth. You will help create a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom where every student has the opportunity to thrive.
     
    Key Responsibilities
    As a valued member of our educational team, you will:
    • Develop and deliver differentiated mathematics instruction aligned with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and Common Core Standards.
    • Create a safe, supportive classroom environment that promotes academic achievement, emotional growth, and positive student engagement.
    • Assess students' strengths and educational needs using both formal and informal assessments.
    • Develop instructional plans and support Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals in collaboration with the Education Coordinator and multidisciplinary team.
    • Provide individualized and small-group instruction that helps students meet both curriculum expectations and personalized learning goals.
    • Participate in TEAM meetings, treatment team meetings, and collaborative planning sessions.
    • Implement the school's Behavior Management System with consistency and professionalism.
    • Foster positive relationships with students while serving as a supportive adult role model.
    • Collaborate with colleagues, teaching assistants, families, and community partners to promote student success.
    • Attend staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and teacher team meetings.
    • Perform additional responsibilities that support program quality, safety, and continuity.

    Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
    • Massachusetts teaching certification in Mathematics (5–12) or Moderate Disabilities (5–12) preferred.
    • Candidates applying as a Secondary Special Education Teacher with a science background are encouraged to apply.
    • Experience working with students with diverse learning, behavioral, and social-emotional needs is preferred.
    Schedule
    • Full-time, 40 hours per week
    • Monday–Friday
    • 12-month benefited position
