Position Overview
Brave Christian High School is seeking a dedicated, faith-driven High School Math Teacher passionate about helping students grow academically and spiritually. The ideal candidate is committed to strong instruction, meaningful relationships, and integrating a Christian worldview into the classroom.
This role involves teaching upper-level high school mathematics, supporting student development, and contributing to a Christ-centered school culture.
Key Responsibilities
Instruction & Curriculum
Teach high school math courses (Algebra I & II, Geometry, Statistics, Pre-Calculus, and other assigned courses).
Develop lesson plans aligned with state standards and school curriculum.
Use clear, engaging instructional strategies that support different learning styles.
Assess student progress regularly and provide timely, constructive feedback.
Prepare students for standardized tests and college readiness benchmarks.
Classroom Environment
Maintain a structured, respectful, and engaging classroom.
Foster a growth mindset and encourage critical thinking and problem-solving.
Set high expectations while offering appropriate support.
Faith Integration
Incorporate biblical principles into instruction where appropriate.
Model Christian character and integrity in all interactions.
Participate in chapel, prayer, and school-wide spiritual activities.
Student Support & Communication
Build positive relationships with students and families.
Communicate clearly with parents regarding progress and concerns.
Provide extra help sessions as needed.
Collaboration & School Involvement
Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events.
Collaborate with colleagues to strengthen curriculum and student outcomes.
Contribute to extracurricular programs, clubs, or athletics as appropriate.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
Valid state teaching certification (or ability to obtain certification).
Committed Christian with a statement of faith aligned with Brave Christian High School’s mission.
Strong classroom management and communication skills.
Preferred
Master’s degree in a related field.
Experience teaching high school mathematics.
Experience in Christian education.
Skills & Competencies
Strong content knowledge in secondary mathematics.
Clear and effective communicator.
Organized and dependable.
Able to connect with teenagers in a positive, respectful way.
Team-oriented with a servant-leadership mindset.
Work Schedule
Full-time, 10-month academic year position.
Occasional evening events, parent conferences, and school activities required.
