Position Overview:
- Deliver engaging Algebra I and Algebra II instruction to middle and high school students, fostering academic growth and mathematical proficiency.
- Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards while assessing student progress and adapting instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement, critical thinking, and academic success.
- Collaborate with colleagues, families, and school staff to support student achievement and contribute to a strong educational community.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Valid New York State Teaching Certification (Preferred)
- Non-certified candidates must have relevant coursework demonstrating subject-matter expertise in mathematics.
- 1+ years of experience teaching mathematics at the middle or high school level, preferably in an urban school setting
- Strong classroom management skills with a collaborative, proactive, and student-centered approach
