Additional Information

The School District of Spring Valley is a small, close-knit district in western Wisconsin serving students PK-12 on one campus. The high school was built in 1998, and the district proudly opened a newly constructed elementary school in the fall of 2021. The district is technology-rich, with 1-to-1 devices for all students and staff, live-streaming capabilities, 3D printers, and a variety of innovative instructional technology resources.

Spring Valley Middle/High School has experienced significant academic growth and instructional improvement over the past five years. Through intentional work focused on essential standards, assessment literacy, and data-driven instruction, staff have strengthened curriculum alignment and improved student learning outcomes. Beginning in 2021 and continuing through today, teachers have collaborated through professional learning communities to identify priority standards, develop common assessments, and implement targeted instructional strategies.

This focused effort has led to stronger alignment between instruction and assessment, more targeted interventions, and improved academic growth across grade levels. Teachers now routinely analyze student data by standard, respond quickly to learning gaps, and extend learning opportunities for students who demonstrate proficiency. This continuous improvement mindset has strengthened academic rigor and supported positive student outcomes.

As a result of this sustained focus on teaching and learning, Spring Valley now ranks among the Top 30 K-12 schools in Wisconsin as measured by the State Accountability Report. This recognition reflects the district's commitment to continuous improvement, strong instructional leadership, and high expectations for all students.

In addition to strong academics, the district offers robust co-curricular opportunities, with students consistently earning state-level recognition in athletics, fine arts, and academic competitions.

In April 2025, the Spring Valley community demonstrated strong support for the district by approving two referendum questions. Work to update the middle/high school and construction of a new track and field facility will begin in the coming year, further enhancing opportunities for students and the community.

The Village of Spring Valley has approximately 1,400 residents and offers a wide range of services including a community theater, public library, medical clinic, pharmacy, and dental care. Spring Valley is also home to an impressive 18-hole golf course. Syverson Pool provides swimming lessons, water aerobics, lap swimming, and open swim opportunities. The nearby 650-acre Eau Galle Recreation Area offers fishing, swimming, boating, hiking, camping, and horseback riding.

Spring Valley lies eight miles south of I-94 between two college towns: UW-River Falls, 20 miles to the west, and UW-Stout in Menomonie, 20 miles to the east. The shopping, professional sports facilities, international airport, educational institutions, and cultural events of the Twin Cities are just an easy hour's drive away.

Spring Valley offers the unique combination of a supportive small-town environment, strong community partnerships, and a forward-thinking commitment to academic growth and student success.
