Position Details

Qualifications and Attributes:

  • A valid Michigan teacher certificate with at least three (5) years of successful teaching

experience

  • Professional experience leading a large comprehensive high school
  • A master's degree or higher, preferably in school administration or educational

leadership

  • Michigan administrator certification
  • Highly effective communication skills
  • Strong relational skills with demonstrated ability to foster positive relationships with

students, parents, & staff

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and grow others

Responsibilities:

  • Administers the total operation of the school and its personnel
  • Supervises school improvement and staff development
  • Directs, supervises, and evaluates the instructional program and instructional staff
  • Plans staff, departmental and other special meetings
  • Assists in the selection and procurement of teaching and nonteaching personnel
  • Assists in planning and developing the school budget and supervises the expenditures from this

budget and all fiscal matters pertaining to the school

  • Supervises the school community program and provides leadership to parent organization
  • Recommends and administers guidelines for proper student conduct and maintaining student

discipline

  • Attends all regular Board of Education meetings, as requested
  • Attends all Central Office staff meetings, as requested
  • Serves on various District-wide committees as needed
  • All other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Education
