Job Title: Assistant Program Manager, High School 
Reports To: High School Program Manager

Summary/Objective:
The Assistant Manager for School-Aged programs works collaboratively with the Program Manager to provide direct academic and enrichment services to students attending the afterschool and summer programs and their family members.  The Assistant Program manager assists in managing the day-to-day operations of the program; such as—supervision of staff, scheduling, student management, volunteer management, direct educational services, maintenance of curriculum and supplies, mealtime, transportation, parent partnership, and program outcome reporting. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Program Implementation
In collaboration with the Program Manager, the Assistant Manager will
  • Be responsible for the day-to-day management and supervision of the afterschool summer program 
  • Create and implement program policies and procedures
  • Manage student behavior concerns
  • Manage student transportation, arrival and dismissals
  • Create program and staff schedules
  • Coordinate activities that support the program objectives and align to the school day
  • Manage program expenses by determining what materials and curriculum are essential and within budget guidelines
  • Plan and execute six parent events annually

Student Recruitment
In collaboration with the Program Manager, the Assistant Manager will
  • Recruit and enroll students
  • Maintain accurate student records
  • Provide orientation to families
  • Represent Grace Place at recruiting events
  • Provide outreach to families whose student has attendance or behavioral concerns

Volunteers and Partnerships
In collaboration with the Program Manager, the Assistant Manager will
  • Develop and maintain relationships with school personnel in order to provide student and families services that align with district initiatives
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with community organizations in order to bring quality activities and resources to students and families
  • Train, maintain, and celebrate program volunteers to assist in quality program operations
  • Outcomes
  • In collaboration with the Program Manager, the Assistant Manager will
  • Ensure that the programs meet all grant requirements
  • Collect all data with accuracy
  • Use data/databases to report on program outcomes
  • Maintain student records
  • Work toward continuous program improvements through data analysis and action planning

Qualifications:

Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred
  • Degree in education or related field is preferred

Experience:
  • Minimum of two years of experience working in an education or youth development environment
  • Supervisory experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Bi-lingual skills required (English/Spanish or English/Haitian Creole)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification

  • Work Environment: This position is primarily based at one main work location. However, occasional travel to other sites may be required to perform job responsibilities. Work conditions may include varying temperatures, noise levels, and other environmental factors depending on the location and duties being performed.

  • Physical Demands: Bending, sitting, and standing for long periods of time. Occasionally lift, carry, or hold weight more than 40 pounds.

Background Screening Requirement
