Position Details

Summary of Position: Provide high-quality, caring, and certified instruction to students and work collaboratively with district administration, colleagues, students, parents, and the board to accomplish or surpass the educational goals of the district. Work as a collaborative team member to implement the curriculum and accomplish short- and long-term academic goals. Must be certified to teach biology and physical science; additional endorsements encouraged but not mandatory. This posting is for the 2026-2027 school year.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Michigan Teaching Certification with appropriate endorsement(s)
  • Must meet Highly Qualified requirements as defined by the Michigan Department of Education
  • A criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is required

Essential Position Requirements:

  • Regular, Reliable, and Punctual attendance
  • Instructional planning for the classroom and the delivery or direction of instructional activities.
  • Provide opportunities for individualized and small group instruction, adapting the curriculum to the needs of each student.
  • Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly, productive classroom environment.
  • Develop, provide, and utilize instructional plans, strategies, methods, materials, and techniques that best meet students' needs.
  • Communicate appropriately and effectively with parents, both in writing and verbally.
  • Maintain student records, student achievement, and attendance using district-approved technology.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to perform essential functions while adhering to all building and district policies regarding attendance, business procedures, safety, professionalism, and personal appearance.
  • Participate as part of a work team and work effectively with colleagues.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or other designated person.

Reports to: Building Principal

Pay Rate: As stated per the Collective Bargaining Agreement
