Secretary/Registrar - Beaver Dam High School
12 month position - 8.0 Hours Per Day / Full Benefit Package / 1st shift
$20.35-$24.59/hour
Position Summary: Organizes and manages the smooth and efficient operation of the High School Office, coordinate and maintain effective office procedures, establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with superiors and co-workers, present a positive image to staff, students, and visitors, keeping their needs in mind and public relations at a high level.
Qualifications:
High school diploma/GED. and 1- 3 years administrative secretarial/office management experience preferred.
Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word (including mail merge), Excel (export information from student database to Excel), Publisher, Google, and the schools' management information system (Skyward).
Possess excellent interpersonal/communication skills.
Possess the ability to provide leadership in general office management and building responsibilities.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks and interruptions in an effective prioritized manner.
Ability to maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality.
Ability to interact positively with students, staff, and the public.
Ability to handle crisis situations quickly, calmly, and effectively.
Ability to organize and prioritize work; plan, coordinate and complete assignments without direct supervision is a must.
Mental/Physical/Environmental DemandsMaintain emotional control under stress; Work with frequent interruptions; Prolonged use of computer & sitting;
Light physical work lifting up to 25 lbs.; Ability to move throughout the building
Responsibilities & Job Duties:
Maintain confidentiality of records and student information.
Prepare and type correspondence and reports for the administration.
Order instructional/office supplies.
Prepare documents/school calendars, etc. distribute to district and building personnel.

Substitutes
Assist in preparation for graduation and other functions.
Coordinate various events such as parent teacher conferences, registration, etc.
Prepare the school newsletter and manage school messaging to parents.
Research and revise systems and procedures as necessary.
Receive incoming calls, take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff.
Sort, distribute, or deliver mail and other documents.
Administer medication to students, check temperatures, and notify parents of student illness in nurse's absence.
Participate in professional development training programs to improve job performance.
Serve as recorder of meeting proceedings as requested by the Principal.
