Qualifications:
- Valid Texas Special Education Teaching License
- Experience or strong interest in working with high school students in a Life Skills or special education setting
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, encouraging classroom atmosphere
- Ability to develop and adapt instructional materials to meet students' unique needs
Key Responsibilities: - Develop and implement tailored lesson plans for students in a Life Skills classroom at the high school level
- Assess student abilities and progress, documenting outcomes and adjusting instruction as needed
- Collaborate closely with general education staff, administrators, and families to support each learner
- Create a positive environment for students with diverse learning needs, ensuring safety and promoting life skills development
- Understand and follow all required IEP processes, documentation, and compliance guidelines
- Encourage student engagement through hands-on and functional activities preparing them for greater independence
