Student Support Guide - SummaryThe STEAD School is seeking a Student Support Guide who is both an educator and adolescent advocate. This role combines teaching expertise with a commitment to supporting students' academic, social, and emotional development.The Student Support Guide will:Provide individual and small-group academic instruction, remediation, enrichment, and mentoring.Teach in their area of specialty while contributing talents and interests across the broader school community.Support students as a generalist educator, helping them develop academic, organizational, social, and emotional skills.Design engaging, student-centered lessons using approaches such as project-based, collaborative, and student-led learning.Monitor student progress, provide feedback, maintain records, and communicate with families and colleagues.Implement IEP and 504 accommodations and support individualized student learning plans.Supervise students in classrooms, on campus, and during field trips and special events.Participate in Accelerator Week, Exhibition Nights, Student-Led Conferences, recruitment events, professional development, and school activities.Collaborate with teachers, counselors, families, and school leadership to address academic and behavioral needs.Contribute to a positive, inclusive, collaborative, and safe school culture.QualificationsA bachelor's degree and appropriate state licensure/accreditation are required. A master's degree, prior teaching experience, and specialized experience working with secondary students are preferred.The ideal candidate is positive, collaborative, organized, adaptable, and passionate about adolescents, with strong communication, classroom management, problem-solving, and instructional skills.
