East Troy Community School District is seeking a dedicated and student-centered High School Special Education Teacher to join our team. This position supports students with diverse learning needs through high-quality instruction, collaboration, and individualized services aligned with IEP goals. The ideal candidate is passionate about inclusive practices, relationship-building, and helping students achieve academic, social, and post-secondary success.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong background and demonstrated expertise in both individualized instruction and transition services. Candidates must possess the knowledge, skills, and dispositions necessary to support Personalized Learning Environments and exemplary transition coordination practices, as evidenced by the following:
Provide specially designed instruction to high school students with disabilities in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful learning environment.
Monitor student progress toward transition and IEP goals, and adjust instructional strategies based on data and student needs.
Ability to serve as district liaison for adult agency providers and familiesParticipate in IEP meetings, professional learning communities, and ongoing professional development.
Ability to coordinate and manage multiple paraprofessionals who work to assist students.
Evidence of forward thinking and collaborative approach to problem solving and meeting the diverse needs of learners.
Utilize data-driven instructional strategies and differentiated practices to meet diverse learner needs.
Ensure confidentiality of information related to students that adheres to all applicable FERPA and HIPPA laws.
Adhere to the highest professional ethical standards.
Support students' transition planning, including post-secondary education, employment, and independent living skills.
Ability to record and analyze data and assessment results and data in order to drive instruction and develop Functional Behavioral Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans
Ability to incorporate RtI and PBIS into the culture and learning environment
Training and experience in Non-violent Crisis Intervention (preferred).
