The School District of Hillsboro is now accepting applications for a High School Special Education Teacher. This position requires a dynamic teacher with the ability to develop positive relationships with students, parents, peers, and the community. This is a full-time position starting for the 2026-2027 school year.

The preferred candidate will:

  • -Effectively utilize evaluations and assessments to plan, coordinate, and implement a developmentally appropriate learning experience, while supporting children's social and emotional needs.
  • -Confer with parents, administrators, specialists, and other professionals to develop individual educational plans designed to promote students'' educational, physical, and social development.
  • -Teach socially acceptable behavior, employing techniques such as behavior modification and positive reinforcement.
  • -Meet with parents and guardians to discuss their child''s progress, and to determine their priorities for their children.
  • -Plan and facilitate daily programs that are age-appropriate and cognitively stimulating.
  • -Develop transition plans to prepare students for after high school
