JOB GOAL All students, as well as all subgroups of students, are expected to be introduced to, must be challenged to develop and then enhance, and must master appropriate grade level academic skills (as specifically outlined in the most current state curriculum standards).


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Preparelessonplansfortheprincipal'scarefulandthoroughreviewwhicharecorrelatedtothemost current state curriculum standards and effectively use the lesson plans;
  2. Useappropriategradelevel,data-driven,research-based,teachingstrategiestoteachtheappropriatecurriculumstandardstoallstudent,andsubgroupsofstudents;
  3. Analyzethemostrecent,appropriate,formalstateassessment results (including Value-Added and TVAAS Teacher Effect, when applicable) as well as the latest system-and school-level Report Card, studying identified strengths and weaknesses, then make appropriate adjustments in the classroom;

  1. ServeasapositiveandactiveparticipantinProfessionalLearningCommunity(at the school level and system level,when applicable);
  2. Assessfrequentlystudents'comprehensionandapplication of expected curriculum standards;
  3. Takeresponsibilityfor all students' mastery of applicable curriculum standards and significant academic growth;
  4. Instruct students in subject matter, using various teaching methods, such as lecture and demonstration, and uses audiovisual aids and other materials to supplement presentations;
  5. Prepareteachingoutlineforcourseofstudy,andassignslessonsandcorrectshomeworkpapers;
  6. Administerteststoevaluates students' progress, records results, and issues reports to inform parents of student's progress;
  7. Keep accurate attendance records;
  8. Maintain discipline in classroom and in schoolyard;
  9. Participateinfacultyandprofessionalmeetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops;
  10. Encouragestudentstomaintainsstandardsofclassroombehavior;
  11. Prepareforclassesandshowsevidenceofpreparationuponrequestofimmediatesupervisor;
  12. Isavailabletostudentsandparentsforeducation-relatedpurposesoutsidetheinstructionaldaywhenrequestedtodoso;
  13. Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules, board policies, and administrative regulations;

WORK CONDITIONS

Normalworking environment.

Qualifies for the PROFESSIONAL EXEMPTION from the requirements of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) in regard to overtime. The employee is not entitled to the overtime rate of pay (time and a half) when the employeeworksoverforty(40)hoursinthedefinedwork week (from Sunday 12:00 a.m. and continues through the following Saturday at 11:59 p.m.).


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

The employee is expected to complete a ten-month or two hundred (200) day work year.
