The Teacher SPED HS SAILSABC will provide instruction in academic behavior communication independent living social and personal care skills to students with disabilities using a variety of teaching techniques materials and equipment in a highly-structured environment.

The Succeeding in Academic and Independent Living Skills SAILS and Academic Behavior Communication ABC programs generally serve students with cognitive disabilities who require a curriculum focusing on:

• 1 academic instruction based on prerequisite skills that are aligned to grade level TEKS • 2 communicationsocial skills • 3 independent living skills • 4 vocational instruction

Students in this program may also demonstrate challenging behaviors little to no functional communication skills and high need for visualphysical structure.

Any teacher who will coach a UIL sport will also provide athletic services related to that athletic sport and the athletic program.
