In Welding I students develop foundational skills in manual welding cutting and electrical arc welding processes used to fabricate and join metal components according to diagrams blueprints and specifications. Students learn industry-standard safety practices and techniques including the opportunity to earn the Occupational Safety and Health Administration OSHA 10 certification. Instruction emphasizes technical skill development employability skills and safe shop practices. Contextual instruction and participation in co-curricular Career and Technical Student Organization CTSO activities help students develop leadership interpersonal and workplace readiness skills. High-Quality Work-Based Learning HQWBL experiences provide experiential learning opportunities aligned with students career goals and interests through partnerships with local businesses and organizations.Welding IIWelding II provides advanced instruction designed to help students refine technical welding skills and perform welds in multiple positions using a variety of welding processes.
