Imagine your day beginning at the inspection bay of MPI Label Systems. You power up an advanced, automated inspection platform and prepare a high-speed slitter/rewinder line to deliver zero‑defect finished labels. From setup to final packaging, you are the last word on quality.
A day in the life
You’ll begin by loading master rolls and dialing in precise machine parameters—web tension, speed, blade positions, and counter calibration—so the system runs flawlessly to the job ticket. As the AVT system flags a defect, the line pauses; you swiftly remove non‑compliant material and execute a clean, approved repair splice. Back in motion, you complete precision slitting and rewinding to exacting specifications so every roll is production‑ready.
What you run every shift
Machine setup and operation: Set up, operate, and closely monitor a Slitter/Rewinder (multiple machine options) to meet all job specifications, including loading master rolls, setting web tension and speed, adjusting slitting blades, and ensuring counter calibration.
Rework and splicing: When the AVT inspection halts for a detected defect, remove the defective segment and perform precise, approved repair splices with clean execution.
Finishing: Slit to final widths with clean edges, maintain proper core alignment and size, and meet all finishing parameters laid out on the job ticket.
Counting and packaging: Verify counts and measurements, rewind to the exact specified length, diameter, and core size, and stage finished rolls for shipping.
What you document and safeguard
Job verification: Interpret job tickets, QC documentation, and customer specifications to ensure materials, adhesives, sizes, and quantities are correct.
Production records: Capture run time, waste quantities, finished counts, and detailed quality notes accurately and completely.
Non-conformance control: Immediately identify, segregate, and clearly tag any non‑conforming product; notify the supervisor or Quality Manager for disposition.
