Ready to lead on the line?

We’re looking for a senior assembler who lives our values—Earning Trust, Embracing Responsibility, Showing Courage, Driving Innovation—and believes in doing the right thing in the right way. If you thrive in a fast-moving shop environment and enjoy coaching others, let’s talk.

Do you...

  • Read mechanical and electrical blueprints and interpret circuit schematics with confidence?
  • Wire 3-phase/480V and low-voltage control systems from drawings?
  • Install motors and controls, then verify clean, correct operation?
  • Run Hi-Pot (dielectric) tests and troubleshoot end-of-line issues on plate products?
  • Lead small groups and mentor junior mechanics while keeping quality and safety first?

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Owning personal and team safety; following all safety rules and using proper PPE.
  • Working across all NEXUS stations—especially Assembly and Wiring—to build to specification using standard work (and explaining it to junior teammates).
  • Operating equipment efficiently to hit or exceed shift production goals.
  • Performing basic preventive maintenance and completing daily/weekly sign-offs on the primary maintenance procedure checklist.
  • Upholding quality and process standards; documenting processes for knowledge capture and training.
  • Providing direction to a small group; training and developing junior mechanics to grow technical and professional capabilities.
  • Understanding, updating, posting, and communicating departmental metrics; completing accurate paperwork/online data entry.
  • Practicing and sustaining 5S; contributing to safety improvements and continuous improvement projects.
  • Driving sustainability (reduce impact, minimize waste, maximize recycling, conserve energy/water) and supporting innovation that turns fresh ideas into better methods and systems.
  • Adapting to multiple department workstations; performing other duties as assigned.

Must-have capabilities

  • Clear written and verbal communication—including professional emails/memos and technically accurate discussions with customers and co-workers.
  • Strong troubleshooting, maintenance know-how, and CI/root-cause support.
  • Math fluency (add, subtract, multiply, divide, fractional math, fraction–decimal conversions).
  • Skilled with measuring tools: tape measure, micrometer, protractor.
  • Thorough understanding of machine-operation hazards and safety-sensitive areas.
  • High familiarity with BAC models/parts; ability to find instructions and forms on the LAN or databases.
  • Microsoft Excel: update data and generate metrics confidently.
  • Experience on cross-functional teams and the flexibility to switch workstations as needs change.

Who you’ll work with

You’ll report to the Team Leader, act as an influencer and subject matter expert, mentor junior assemblers, and be prepared to step into department leadership. Your expertise may be called upon for regional project teams aligned with plant objectives.

Working conditions and schedule

  • Lift up to 50 lbs; stand for up to 80% of your shift; regular walking, reaching, bending, stooping, and sitting.
  • Frequent fine hand manipulation and steady hand–eye coordination.
  • Work any of three shifts; typical 40-hour weeks with some weekend overtime.
  • Expect temperature variability—from plant fluctuations to outside ambient conditions.

Legal notice: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Proficiencies

  • Electrical Schematics
  • Electrical / Electronic Systems
