As an Engineering Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficiency and meticulousness of our testing processes, combining engineering fundamentals with a scientific approach to experimental design, data collection, and analysis.What You'll Do Conduct visual and functional inspections of high voltage systems, and associated parts to identify defects, irregularities, and areas for improvementPerform detailed inspections of test fixtures, equipment, and prototypes to ensure compliance with safety standards and design specificationsCollaborate with Test Engineers to develop and execute test plans, procedures, and protocols to validate high voltage system performance and reliabilityProvide clear and concise documentation of test results, inspection findings, and technical issues to support data-driven decision makingParticipate in design reviews and technical discussions to ensure that high voltage system designs meet safety, performance, and reliability requirementsOptimize parts and logistics management, both physically and digitally, to ensure efficient testing and prototyping, and identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to increase efficiency and productivityMaintain a high standard of organization and safety in the lab, including inventory management, tooling, and equipment maintenanceDesign, fabricate, and modify test fixtures and equipment to support high voltage system testing and validationAssemble, test, and analyze engineering prototypes to validate design assumptions and identify areas for improvementSupport test engineers with physical tasks required to execute reliability and validation tests to specificationWhat You'll Bring Extensive practical experience in a similar role, with a strong background in engineering principles and practicesHigh Voltage training or demonstrated working knowledge of high voltage DC systems, and associated safety protocols, and experience with high voltage system design, testing, and validationProficient in mechanical fabrication, with experience in machine shop operations and expert-level skills with hand and power tools. Experience with designing complex parts and large assemblies in CAD softwareAbility to disassemble and reassemble electromechanical systems without instruction, demonstrating strong mechanical aptitudeStrong understanding of physics and engineering fundamentals, with the ability to apply principles to solve complex problemsFamiliarity with standard electronic lab tools, including AC/DC meters, data acquisition systems, and AC/DC power suppliesExperience with wiring harness design and fabrication, including soldering, crimping, and following wiring diagramsExperience with Python or similar coding programsExcellent documentation and written communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
