High Volume Recruiter

Walbec produces high-quality construction materials and delivers unparalleled professional design, engineering, and construction services at its six companies, including Payne and Dolan, Northeast Asphalt, Zenith Tech, Parisi, Premier Concrete, and Construction Resources Management.

Position Overview

The High Volume Recruiter is responsible for executing fast-paced, full-cycle recruitment across craft trades, technical, and driver positions in support of field operations. This role sits within Walbec Group's centralized Talent Acquisition function and is built for someone who thrives under pressure, moves with urgency, and never lets quality slip when the pace picks up. Expect a high-demand environment where speed, accuracy, and relationship-building all have to happen at once.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute full-cycle recruitment for high-volume requisitions including craft/trades, QCT, and CDL driver positions — sourcing, screening, interviewing, offer management, and pre-employment coordination (background checks, drug testing)
  • Manage a large, active requisition load with disciplined pipeline organization and consistent follow-through at every stage
  • Partner with hiring managers across multiple operational sites to understand staffing needs, urgency levels, and position requirements
  • Respond rapidly to fluctuating hiring demands driven by project timelines, seasonal ramp-ups, and operational growth
  • Maintain candidate and requisition data in Workday ATS with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness
  • Source candidates through both traditional and non-traditional channels including job boards, career fairs, community networks, and union relationships
  • Represent Walbec Group at career fairs, trade schools, and industry events to build awareness and develop talent pipelines
  • Communicate offer details clearly and compliantly, including compensation, benefits, pre-employment requirements, and start logistics
  • Ensure all hiring activity aligns with federal and state employment laws and internal hiring policies
  • Track and report on key recruitment metrics including time-to-fill, pipeline health, and offer acceptance rates
  • Coordinate new hire orientation logistics to ensure a smooth handoff from offer acceptance through first day
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
  • 4–7 years of Talent Acquisition experience with demonstrated success in high-volume environments
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and large requisition loads without sacrificing accuracy or candidate experience
  • Experience recruiting for craft trades, technical, or transportation/CDL roles strongly preferred
  • Hands-on experience with Applicant Tracking Systems; Workday experience a plus
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and compliance requirements
  • Exceptional communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving, deadline-driven environment where priorities can shift quickly
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in construction, infrastructure, or industrial recruiting
  • Familiarity with union labor markets and trade school or apprenticeship pipeline development
  • Experience representing an employer at career fairs or community hiring events
  • PHR, SHRM-CP, or other HR/TA certification
The Benefits
  • Competitive compensation aligned with industry standards
  • Employer Paid Medical Plan with HRA contribution (eligibility requirements)
  • Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance
  • Flex Spending Account (FSA)
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Company-paid short and long-term disability coverage
  • Paid parental leave
  • Generous PTO and paid holidays
  • Profit sharing
  • Robust Walbec training and professional development program
