Highway Construction Flagger – Certification ProvidedPosition OverviewSilver Star Construction is looking for reliable, safety-minded team members to work as Highway Construction Flaggers. Flaggers play an important role in protecting motorists, pedestrians, and construction crews by controlling and directing traffic around active construction areas.No previous flagging certification is necessary. Silver Star Construction will provide the training required to become a Certified Flagger.This position is a great entry point into the highway construction industry for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, being part of a team, and contributing to safe and successful construction projects.Key ResponsibilitiesParticipate in and successfully complete company-provided Certified Flagger training.Safely control and direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic through designated work zones.Place, inspect, maintain, and remove traffic control equipment such as cones, signs, barricades, and related devices.Communicate effectively with other flaggers, equipment operators, supervisors, and crew members through radios, hand signals, and other approved methods.Comply with applicable federal and state requirements, as well as company safety and traffic-control procedures.Stay attentive to changing road conditions, traffic flow, work activities, and potential safety hazards.Perform general construction labor and other assigned duties when traffic control is not needed.Promptly communicate unsafe situations, accidents, injuries, or other incidents to the appropriate supervisor.QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED preferred.Must be 18 years of age or older.Willingness and ability to complete and maintain Certified Flagger credentials; training is provided.Effective verbal communication and the ability to work well with others.Reliable, responsible, and committed to following safe work practices.Able to understand instructions, follow established procedures, and work with limited supervision.Valid driver's license and dependable transportation preferred.Physical & Work RequirementsStand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.Work outside in a variety of weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, wind, and rain.Lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.Frequently bend, stoop, reach, and perform other physically active job duties.Remain alert and maintain situational awareness while working near live traffic, construction vehicles, and heavy equipment.Why Work for Silver Star Construction?Certified Flagger training provided at no costWeekly payOpportunities for advancement and career growthStrong safety-focused cultureEmployee-owned companyCompetitive wages and benefitsHelp build and improve Oklahoma's roads and infrastructureIf you are dependable, safety-driven, and interested in getting your start in the highway construction industry, Silver Star Construction wants to hear from you!www.silverstarconst.com P: (405) 317-7680
