From collaborating with the Virginia Highway Safety Office's advertising agency on bold creative concepts to planning press events, community activations and public outreach campaigns, this role is at the center of some of the Commonwealth's most innovative highway safety initiatives.One day you may be helping launch a statewide media campaign focused on seat belt use or speeding prevention. The next, you could be coordinating a major public event, supporting a press conference with agency leadership, developing messaging strategies or partnering with law enforcement, schools, sports organizations, and nonprofit groups to amplify lifesaving messages.Reporting directly to the Director of Highway Safety, this position oversees marketing, communications, media relations and outreach strategies for the Virginia Highway Safety Office while supervising assigned staff and helping shape the future of roadway safety in Virginia.The Virginia Highway Safety Office is dedicated to reducing crashes, injuries and fatalities through data-driven strategies, innovative public engagement and strong partnerships across the Commonwealth.
