We are currently seeking a dynamic and dedicated Permanent HIM CDI Coding Lead to join our healthcare team. This individual will play a crucial role in managing our medical coding operations and ensuring compliance with the highest industry standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the clinical documentation improvement (CDI) program, including coding quality, education, reporting, and compliance initiatives. This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned coding professional with a strong DRG/APC auditing background, who is looking for an opportunity to make a significant impact on the quality of our healthcare services.

Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and manage all aspects of the CDI program, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
2. Conduct regular DRG/APC audits to ensure coding accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
3. Provide education and training to coding staff and clinical teams on CDI principles, coding guidelines, and compliance requirements.
4. Work directly with physicians and clinical teams to ensure accurate and complete clinical documentation in the medical record.
5. Develop and implement coding quality, education, reporting, and compliance initiatives.
6. Monitor and analyze coding accuracy and provide feedback and education to coding staff as necessary.
7. Maintain current knowledge of coding guidelines and reimbursement reporting requirements.
8. Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless coordination of coding and documentation efforts.
9. Lead and manage a team of coding professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.

Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a hospital-based coding leadership role, with significant CDI experience.
2. Strong DRG/APC auditing background.
3. Experience working directly with physicians and clinical teams.
4. Comfortable managing coding quality, education, reporting, and compliance initiatives.
5. Holds CPC, CCS, RHIA, or RHIT certification.
6. Proven leadership experience, with a track record of successfully managing and developing a team.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex coding principles and guidelines to a diverse audience.
8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze coding data and identify areas for improvement.
9. Proficient in using medical coding software and health information management systems.
10. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
11. Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of coding accuracy and compliance.
