Essence Services Inc is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional's (DSP) to join our growing team in Akron, OH! Responsibilities:

• Provide direct care and daily living support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD)
• Assist clients with personal hygiene, grooming, meal preparation, and household tasks
• Implement individualized support plans (ISPs) and document progress accurately
• Transport and accompany clients to medical appointments, community activities, and errands
• Encourage client independence, skill-building, and community integration
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, family members, and care team members
• Respond appropriately to behavioral challenges using approved techniques and protocols

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Prior experience as a DSP, caregiver, home health aide, or in a related field preferred
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred (no more than 4 points on license)
• Ability to pass a background check
• Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, or holidays
• CPR/First Aid certification, Medication Administration (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
