Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Completion of an accredited Home Health Aide (HHA) training program preferred.
  • Current Home Health Aide (HHA) certification/license preferred.
  • Current CNA certification accepted where applicable.
  • Physically able to safely perform essential job duties.
  • Comfortable following infection control procedures and safely handling body fluids and medical waste.
  • Dependable, compassionate, and committed to providing quality patient care.
  • Ability to work independently while following established care plans.
  • Must meet all state and agency employment requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide compassionate personal care and assistance to clients in their homes under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility, and meal preparation as outlined in the care plan.
  • Promote a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for each client.
  • Observe and promptly report changes in the client's physical, emotional, or mental condition to the supervising nurse.
  • Follow individualized care plans and agency policies to deliver high-quality care.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation of services provided.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, clients, and family members.
  • Practice infection prevention and adhere to all safety protocols.
  • Protect client privacy and maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and agency standards.
  • Complete required documentation and administrative tasks within established deadlines.

Scope of Practice
Home Health Aides provide non-medical personal care services and perform only those duties permitted by state regulations and the client's plan of care. Unless specifically authorized by law and the care plan, HHAs do not:

  • Administer medications.
  • Perform sterile dressing changes or wound care.
  • Irrigate wounds, body cavities, or colostomies.
  • Perform catheterization.
  • Administer tube feedings or gastric irrigation.
  • Care for tracheostomy tubes.
  • Apply therapeutic heat treatments.
  • Perform any skilled nursing procedure outside the approved scope of practice.

Compensation: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
