What You'll Do:
- Prepare tissue specimens for diagnostic examination, including fixation, dehydration, embedding, and sectioning
- Process, cut, and embed approximately 500 tissue blocks nightly
- Perform microtomy of various tissue types, including frozen sections
- Stain slides using techniques such as Hematoxylin and Eosin (H&E) and immunohistochemistry (IHC)
- Operate advanced histology equipment, including tissue processors and stainers
- Ensure quality control of tissue processing and slide preparation
- Collaborate with a team of histotechnologists to meet daily processing targets
What You Need:
- Required:
- ASCP-HT certification
- 2+ years of histology experience in a hospital or clinical lab setting
- Proficiency in tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, and staining techniques (including IHC)
- Ability to work night shifts on a consistent schedule
- Preferred:
- Experience with Leica Peloris or Tissue Tek processors
- Familiarity with EPIC or similar laboratory information systems
- Additional histology certifications or advanced skills in special stains and advanced microscopy
