Job Title: Histologist Tech
Job Location: Idaho
Facility Type: Hospital based lab
Number of PAs or HTs when fully staffed: 2 histotechs
Start Date: Asap
End Date: 13 weeks, potential to extend
Schedule: M-F; 0500-1330 or 0930-1800
Weekly Estimated Pay or Pay Range: $1915 gross weekly
Summary of position:
·Logging incoming tissues
·Embedding tissues
·Cutting tissue for staining
·Place slides on staining equipment
·Filing slides and cassettes
***HTL certification from ASCP is required (not just HT cert) ****
MUST BE A CERTIFIED HISTO TECH (HTL) WITH (QIHC) IMMUNOHISTOCHEMISTRY STAINS AND TROUBLESHOOTING OF PROGRAMS AND PROTOCOLS.
Qualifications:
Must have: Candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role.- Embedding
- Perform Microtomy
- IHC Experience
- Special Stains
- Managing/troubleshooting staining instrumentation
Preferred: candidates with these skills will be considered first.- Experience working with little supervision
- higher certification (HTL) with more extensive training which allows them to do Immunohistochemistry stains and troubleshooting of programs and protocols
