Position Title: Histotechnician (Per Diem) Job Description:

Purpose & Scope: 

The Histotechnician is responsible for preparing tissue specimens for microscopic examination, with primary responsibilities in tissue embedding, microtomy, specimen preparation, and general histology laboratory operations.

The technician ensures high-quality tissue sections are produced in a timely manner while following laboratory quality and safety standards.

 

Education: 

Associate degree or completion of at least two years of college coursework in biology, chemistry, medical laboratory science, or a related science field is preferred.

 

Experience: 

Three years of direct experience in histology lab including histotechnician duties is preferred.

 

Certification/Licensure: 

Histotechnician (HT) - American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Board of Certification is preferred.
