Location:Ridgefield, CT 06877
Duration: 12 Months
Shift: 8 AM to 5 PM
Note:
We will not be having a supplier call for this request. We need someone who has experience with the sectioning of FFPE tissues.
We are looking for at least 2 years of FFPE tissue sectioning (experience with skin required), embedding tissues (also in TMAs), and processing tissues.

Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
- Tissue fixation, processing, and embedding of biological specimens
- Sectioning tissues using microtomy techniques to prepare high-quality slides
- Performing routine, special staining, and IHC/IF procedures
- Whole slide scanning
- Maintenance of laboratory equipment
- Ensuring quality control and accurate documentation of laboratory procedures
- Collaborating with pathologists and research scientists to support ongoing projects
Skills:
Histotechnician Qualifications & Skills
Must Have Skills:
- Microtomy skill
- Experience with FFPE tissue block sectioning
- Associate degree in histotechnology or a related field
- ASCP certification as a Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL), or eligibility to obtain certification
- Proficiency in microtomy, tissue processing, embedding, and staining techniques
- Strong understanding of laboratory safety protocols and regulatory compliance
- Exceptional attention to detail, manual dexterity, and organizational skills
- Excellent time-management, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume laboratory environment
