Job Summary: Under supervision, the Histotechnician will function as a technician mainly in Histology and may rotate in other areas of the laboratory performing patient care testing as needed. Perform duties that may include:

• Running various laboratory instrumentation
• Performing manual testing
• Specimen receiving and processing
• Computer-related duties such as patient entry, test request entry/requisition format, quality control, reagent preparation
• Following general laboratory and safety procedures, including universal precautions and chemical and biochemical hazard precautions

Minimum Qualifications:

• NYS license/registration or limited permit to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist, Histo Technician, Clinical lab Technician

Preferred Qualifications:

• Candidates with less than 2 years clinical lab experience or with a NYS license/registration or limited permit to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technician will be considered for appointment to a commensurate title and salary.
• Must be able to distinguish colors for the purposes of performing laboratory tests.

Work Schedule:

• Work Days: M-F 7:30-4:00
