Description

Job Title: Histotechnologist

Location: Atlanta, GA
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: Evenings | Monday–Friday | 6:00 PM – 2:30 AM
Hours: 40 hours/week (5x8-hour shifts)

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a Pathology Laboratory.
  • No local candidates within 50 miles of the facility.
  • Required Certification:
    • ASCP Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL)
  • Education:
    • Successful completion of a formal Histology Technologist training program or
    • Associate's degree in Chemical, Physical, or Biological Sciences.

Responsibilities

  • Receive surgical pathology specimens.
  • Accession specimens into Cerner.
  • Collect tissue blocks from Pathologists and Pathologists' Assistants.
  • Process, embed, and section tissue specimens.
  • Perform routine staining of histology slides.
  • Support the Pathology, Cytology, and Immunohistochemistry (IHC) departments.

  • Department supports Pathology, Cytology, and Immunohistochemistry (IHC) services.
