Description:

Job Summary:Under the supervision of the Non-Athletic Co-Curricular Coordinator the Peer Advocates Advisor has the responsibility for the development, direction, training of student members to be prepared to assist their peers who may be experiencing problems in or out of school. Advisors will also provide student members with the skills to recognize situations where adult professional involvement is required due to the nature of any particular circumstance. He/she shall design practices which will complement the academic curriculum programs offered in the school to promote the growth and development of all pupils. He/she shall perform such additional duties as may be delegated to them by the High School Administration or their designee.

WORK YEAR: School year weekly or bi-weekly meetings

1-2 training session / 5-7 hours of after school instruction to students

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Peer Advocate Advisor has these among other duties and responsibilities:

  1. Regular meetings

  2. Extended Training sessions

  3. Short trainings at meetings

  4. Individual conferences as needed for support students with their interventions

  5. Response to situations that fall within the "Red Flag Issues" category.

  • Adhere to all BOE policies and other co-curricular policies and regulations
