HMG – Environmental Accumulation Area Inspector Location: Silverdale, Washington (Bangor) Type: Non-Exempt Work Schedule: Full-time Compensation: $33.50-$33.50 per hour Be a part of a company that cares. The Environmental Accumulation Area Inspector will ensure that West Sound Base Operations Support Contract conduct their work within Federal, State, and County Regulations. This position is located at an active naval industrial installation setting characterized by high volumes of work under varied conditions including working around heavy machinery, ships, and other mechanical systems. Typical duties include but are not limited to: Conduct weekly inspections of Central Accumulation Areas (CAA) and Satellite Accumulation Areas (SAA). Verify compliance with RCRA, WAC 173-303, and installation policies. Ensure proper labeling, storage, segregation, and aisle space. Correct minor compliance issues in real time. Maintain cleanliness and safe conditions within accumulation areas. Prepare and submit monthly electronic inspection reports. Maintain organized hardcopy and electronic records. Support hazardous waste pickup, consolidation, and container management. Participate as a member of the spill response team. Communicate professionally with government representatives and contractors. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications:  40-hour HAZWOPER certification (current). Minimum 1 year experience in hazardous waste. 2–3 years’ experience in environmental compliance, or inspections, preferred. Working knowledge of RCRA and Washington State environmental regulations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel required). Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities. Ability to multitask and prioritize workload and ability to work under pressure. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in industrial environments (outdoors, near heavy equipment, vessels, etc.) Requirements: Must have the ability to obtain and maintain all applicable federal security clearances. Required drug screening, physical, and background check. A valid state driver license is required.
