Title HMS - Associate in Biomedical Informatics (Baym Lab) School Harvard Medical School Department/Area * Position Description

The Department of Biomedical Informatics (DBMI) at Harvard Medical School and the Baym Lab are seeking an Associate, postbacalaureate researcher, with experience in the evolution of mobile genetic elements. The candidate will work with a multi-disciplinary team of computational biologists, evolutionary biologists, and microbiologists to conduct research on mobile genetic element genetics and biology using a mixture of synthetic, genetic, and computational tools. The Associate will develop protocols, genetically engineer microbes, collaborate with other members of the Baym lab on existing research projects, and contribute to publications.

Basic Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Evolutionary Biology or a closely related field.
  • Research experience with microbial mobile genetic elements (bacteriophages, plasmids, or similar).
