Home Comfort Systems Diagnostic Technician

What will I do each day?

  • Diagnose, maintain, and repair residential HVAC equipment; support light commercial as needed.
  • Clean, calibrate, and service air handlers, ductwork, supply/return vents, and condensate lines.
  • Respond to routine and urgent calls, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
  • Walk customers through issues, options, and recommendations in plain language.
  • Perform inspections, adjustments, and system upgrades; document all work performed.
  • Maintain safety compliance and keep your workspace and vehicle neat.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

What qualifications are required?

  • 2–5+ years of hands-on HVAC experience, preferably in the residential market.
  • EPA Certification.
  • Valid Driver’s License with a minimum of three years of driving experience.
  • Advanced diagnostic and problem-solving skills for complex issues.
  • Positive attitude and pride in delivering excellent workmanship.
  • Customer-service mindset; able to interact professionally with all stakeholders.
  • Team player who adapts quickly and embraces change.

What are the physical requirements?

  • Lift 50 lbs regularly; occasionally up to 100 lbs.
  • Climb ladders; access attics and crawlspaces; work in tight quarters; push/pull/carry; use hand tools; perform fine detail tasks.
  • Drive between appointments.
  • Work in indoor/outdoor environments, including attics and crawlspaces.
  • Stand, walk, sit; communicate in person and by phone.
  • Use hands to handle/feel objects and controls; reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequently stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch.
  • Regular exposure to heat, cold, wind, rain, ice, or snow.
