PositionOverview

The HomeDeliveredMeals Driver (Temporary) transports prepared meals to home-boundeldersandcommunity members with a disability within a specificgeographicarea during times when regular, volunteer drivers are unavailable.The driver performs a wellnesscheck for eachconsumerandserves as a link betweenAgeSpanandtheconsumer. Specific geographic areas for this position in the Merrimack Valley communities, to include Lawrence and Lowell. Driver must be available Monday-Friday mornings, for a maximum of 15 hours per week for this temporary position.

• Reports to the SiteSupervisor or Driver Supervisor directly and Nutrition Program Manager and Director-indirectly

EssentialJobFunctions

• Ensures that meals are safelypackaged in approvedfoodcontainers to maintainproper holding temperatures.
• Reports any issuesregarding poor or unsafefood quality.
• Loads mealcontainersintopersonal vehicle.
• Follows all traffic andsafetylawswhile on duty.
• Delivers meals to consumersaccordingto a predetermined route.
• Delivers and sets up meals for consumersintheirhomewhen necessary.
• Ensures thatconsumerswithspecificdietaryrequirementsreceivethecorresponding meal.
• Conforms to any specific delivery instructionsnoted for the consumer.
• Upon meal delivery,the driver confirmsthatthe consumer is athomeandreports any unusual circumstances.
• Performs a wellnesscheck by deliveringeachmealdirectly to the consumer.
• Recordseach meal delivery on theroute sheet.
• Reports any issues or concernsregarding the consumerimmediately to the officeand records.
• Recordsandreports if a consumer is not at homewhenthe meal delivery is attemptedand discards the Meals may only be consumed by theintendedrecipient.
• Communicatesroutineinformationreceivedfromtheconsumerandfamilymemberstoappropriateagency individuals.
• Demonstratesflexibilitywithchanges to delivery schedules or routes.
• Other related duties as assigned.

• Attends meetings as required, including staffmeetings,in-servicetrainings,utilizationreviews, and collateralagency

Requirements

• Able to read, write,understand,andinterpretbasic English
• Must have owntransportation, current driver's license and must show proof of automobileinsurancewith a minimumliabilitycoverage of $20,000/$40,000.
• Requires lifting and carryingup to 50 pounds, getting in and out of a vehicle up to 30 times per day, bending, reaching, twisting, walking, and climbing multiple flights of stairs at residences that do not have elevators.
• Requires driving in four season weather conditions.

Hours per week : Up to 15 hours per week (M-F, 9am - 12pm)

This is a temporary position, ending 10/7/2026.

At AgeSpan, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining rate of pay. Actual rate of pay depends on factors including but not limited to internal equity, experience, and qualifications. The pay rate for this position is $18.06/hour.
