Position Summary:


We are seeking a detail-oriented Home Health Medical Biller to join our growing team. This position is responsible for claim submission, accounts receivable follow-up, denial management, insurance verification, and maintaining billing accuracy to support timely reimbursement.


Responsibilities:


  •  Submit and monitor claims to Medicare, managed care, and commercial insurance payers. 
  •  Review billing records for completeness and accuracy prior to claim submission. 
  •  Review and interpret EOBs and remittance advice. 
  •  Resolve rejected claims and submit appeals as needed. 
  •  Maintain accounts receivable and follow up on unpaid claims. 
  •  Work within the EMR system to ensure documentation supports billing requirements. 
  •  Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to obtain missing documentation. 
  •  Participate in quality assurance activities to support billing compliance and reimbursement. 
  •  Coordinate patient intake for home health services, including gathering and verifying patient information 
  •  Prepare and maintain patient medical records and documentation 
  •  Communicate with patients, clinicians, and physician offices as needed 
  •  Assist with scheduling and coordinating home health visits for clinical staff 
  •  Follow up on physician orders and required documentation to ensure completeness and compliance 
  •  Enter and update information accurately in the electronic medical record system 
  •  Support general administrative and phone duties as needed 
  •  Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and agency policies 
Qualifications:


Preferred Qualifications


  •  1+ year of medical billing experience. 
  •  Home health billing experience preferred. 
  •  Knowledge of Medicare billing and reimbursement processes. 
  •  Experience with Axxess EMR and DDE is a plus. 
  •  Familiarity with ICD-10 coding and medical terminology. 
  •  Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. 
  •  Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. 
Training may be provided for candidates with strong administrative or healthcare experience.

Schedule:


  •  Full-Time - In Office
  •  Monday–Friday 
  •  8-hour day shift 
  •  Rotational weekend coverage (approximately one weekend per month)
