Muir Home Health is growing and looking for an experienced Phlebotomist to join our team! This is a contract position until the end of August, with potential to go perm.

JOB SUMMARY

The Phlebotomist collects lab specimens, venipunctures, and PCR tests utilizing proper patient identification and specimen labeling, proper use of isolation precautions, and proper specimen receiving and processing procedures in a variety of different settings. Strong phlebotomy as well as patient bedside manner skills are required to be successful in this position.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform blood draws and specimen collection in a home setting.
  • Follow established procedures for venipuncture, capillary puncture, and arterial puncture.
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety during the phlebotomy procedure.
  • Properly label and prepare collected specimens for transport to the laboratory.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of each phlebotomy procedure.
  • Adhere to infection control and safety guidelines to prevent the spread of infections.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including nurses and physicians, to coordinate patient care.
  • Educate patients and their families on the phlebotomy process and any necessary preparations.
  • Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and advancements in phlebotomy techniques.

JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

  • Certified Phlebotomist with a valid California license.
  • Proven experience as a phlebotomist, with preference for home health experience.
  • Excellent understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to phlebotomy.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective patient interaction.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
  • Knowledge of infection control protocols and safety measures.
  • Familiarity with mobile phlebotomy equipment and procedures.

Pay Range: $28 - $36

Job Type: 6 - 7 month Contract Full Time
