Job Description
Our Home Health Agency is seeking an experienced Medical Biller to work in our financial department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical billing and the skills necessary to improve our current billing procedures and reduce A/R days. We offer competitive compensation.
- Perform posting charges and completion of claims to payers in a timely fashion
- Implement, maintain, and report on programs initiated by the practice
- Submit billing data to insurance providers
- Collections
- Will be familiar with HCFA -CMS-1500 and UB04
- CMS or Medicare Billing
- Daily/Weekly/Monthly processing of electronic and paper claims for assigned payers.
- Understand and adhere to payer requirements for claim submission, including attaching all necessary documentation to process claims.
- Ensure that all electronic submissions are accepted at the payor level and that rejections are corrected within the established timeframe.
- Work claims and claim denials to ensure maximum reimbursement for services provided
- Enhanced knowledge of HIPAA privacy guidelines as well as maintaining and protecting all confidential information.
- Ability to multitask and set priorities on various projects f and reports or the highest rate of returns.
- Knowledge of Commercial, Medicare/Medicaid, and Medicare/Medicaid HMOs / Medicare Advantage Plans.
- Understanding of A/R project procedures and processes, and the follow-up required to drive collections
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- 3-5 + years experience as a Medical Biller
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR)
- Excel, Word, AR Report
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Able to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
