Lead rooftop gardens that transform New York City. New York Green Roofs is a Brooklyn-based urban landscaping company on a mission to put more plants on more roofs. We design, install, and maintain iconic rooftop gardens across NYC guided by customers, team, integrity, and quality. We're hiring a Horticulture Crew Leader to lead maintenance of rooftop gardens and green roofs citywide. This role is for a plant-focused leader who can train a team, elevate quality standards, and grow their career with us.

What You'll Do

• Lead a crew maintaining rooftop gardens to the highest standards
• Apply expertise in planting, pruning, soil care, irrigation, and lighting
• Train and develop team members on field best practices
• Collaborate with installation and maintenance divisions

What You Need

• 3+ years landscape/horticulture maintenance experience
• Crew leadership or foreman experience required
• Strong horticultural knowledge (plants, soil, pruning, irrigation)
• Comfortable working outdoors in all conditions and safely on rooftops
• Experience with irrigation systems and low-voltage lighting
• Valid driver's license with clean record must drive a truck in NYC
• Passion for green infrastructure and sustainable landscapes

Preferred:

• Horticulture degree
• Green roof experience
• NYC SST 40-hour or OSHA certification
• NYC driving experience

Salary and Benefits:
