Commensurate with education, highly qualified status (as determined by Human Resources), and verified full time experience. Includes employee benefits package.

Paygrade 5 $21,339 - $28,945 High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

Paygrade 6 $22,422 - $30,397 48 college credits or qualifying scores on the Parapro Assessment

Paygrade 7 $23,530 - $31,900 Bachelor's degree or higher

Hours:

10 months, 35 hours per week, 182 days (1274 annual hours)

Contract Unit: This position is part of the non-supervisory support services bargaining unit.

FLSA: Non-exempt

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with teachers, students, parents, associates, and members of the public.

Ability to use a point-of-sale system and conduct inventory, as necessary.

Ability to use classroom and instructional equipment.

Ability to operate audiovisual equipment, standard office machines, and word/data processing programs.

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, using the English language when deemed necessary.

Excellent organizational and self-starter skills.

Knowledge of plant science, Maryland Certified Professional Horticulturalist, and/or Maryland Pesticide Applicator's Licensure preferred.

Responsibilities:

Assist teacher or other professionals to achieve instructional objectives.

Assist teacher in daily routines of greenhouse operation.

Interest/Availability to work some nights and weekends during peak seasons.

Assist with large group activities, field trips, and other special programs/activities for students.

Work with individuals or small groups to reinforce material introduced by teacher.

Provide programmed practice activities and repetitions as developed by teacher.

Guide independent study and other work assigned by teacher.

Report student problems to teacher and assist with student problems.

Maintain school safety protocols related to customer visit and entry.

Other duties as assigned at the discretion of the building principal.
