Horticulture General Manager Trainee

A prominent nursery company is seeking candidates for a Horticulture General Manager Trainee to join their team.  This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated, career-minded individual who is ready to learn every aspect of the business and develop into a leadership role. Candidates will be considered statewide but must be willing to travel and relocate. During training you will work and train at multiple locations throughout the country, learning every aspect of running and overseeing greenhouse and nursery operations. Once training is completed you will be given the opportunity to oversee and run one of dozens of locations across the U.S.

Horticulture General Manager Trainee Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Horticulture or a related field required.
• 4+ years’ experience ideally focused on one or more areas: Production Management, Greenhouse Operations, Nursery Supervisor or Management, or Nursery Sales.
• Career-minded with a strong desire to grow into a General Manager position.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn all aspects of nursery operations.
• Willing to work in both indoor and outdoor environments. Some outdoor locations are subject to extreme hot and cold temperatures, and wet or humid conditions.
• Must be willing to travel and relocate during training and for future General Management opportunities.
• Must currently reside in the U.S. not require work sponsorship, and have a valid U.S. driver’s license.

Horticulture General Manager Trainee Key Responsibilities:

• Train in all areas of nursery and greenhouse operations, including production, inventory, customer service, staff supervision, and hiring and developing sales teams.
• Learn best practices in plant health, irrigation, fertilization, pest management, and quality control.
• Assist with scheduling, team leadership, and operational planning.
• Develop the skills necessary to manage a successful nursery and greenhouse location.
