The Hose Production Lead is responsible for overseeing the entire hose assembly process on a production line, ensuring efficient production of high-quality hoses by overseeing the daily activities of a team of hose production workers, monitoring quality control, optimizing workflow, and addressing any issues that arise during the manufacturing process to the Hose Production Supervisor, while adhering to safety standards and production deadlines.
Salary: $24 - $28 | DOE
Primary Duties:
- Leads the day-to-day hose production operations and participates in production activities to learn processes, suggest improvements, and meet deadlines.
- Ensures adherence to quality assurance procedures and communicates with the Hose Production Supervisor.
- Acts as first line supervisor for hose production personnel; motivates and oversees day-to-day tasks/operations.
- Plan and schedule production runs based on customer orders and inventory levels.
- Monitor production progress to identify potential delays and implement corrective actions.
- Optimize workflow and production processes to maximize efficiency and minimize waste.
- Conduct regular quality checks on assembled hoses to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Identify and address quality issues, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain detailed documentation of quality control procedures and results.
- Monitor the condition of hose assembly machinery and report any maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.
- Ensure proper operation and safety of all equipment used in the production process.
- Enforces company safety policies to maintain a safe and clean workplace.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Excellent written & oral communication and strong relationship building skills required.
- Detail oriented with solid organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
- Understanding of hose assembly processes, including different types of hoses, fittings, and crimping techniques.
- Experience with industrial distribution preferred. Familiarity with industrial and hydraulic hose and fittings, especially Parker Hannifin a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality standards.
- Ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently within the production process.
- Effective communication with both team members and management to ensure clear instructions and reporting.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Job requires occasionally lifting objects up to 70 pounds, bending to retrieve equipment, parts, hose reels, to perform pressure testing and to push, pull or slide heavy objects. Standing for extended periods of time while cutting, crimping, blowing out, tagging, and plugging hoses. Frequent repetitive grasping, twisting, pushing, and pulling use of the hands. Occasionally we use hydraulic crimping equipment, saws, pressure testing stand, small power tools, and various other hand tools. Some materials or processes used in hose production may generate odors. Hose production is in a non-air-conditioned area of our facility which may experience high or low seasonal temperatures. The physical demands and work environment reflected are representative of those encountered by employees when performing the essential job functions.
