Hospice Aide / Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
To provide personal care and supportive services to hospice patients in their place of residence under the direction of a Registered Nurse. The Hospice Aide/CNA functions as a member of the interdisciplinary hospice team in accordance with the established plan of care, focusing on comfort, dignity, and quality of life.
This is a per-visit position serving patients throughout the Denver Metro area, offering flexibility while delivering meaningful, hands-on care to patients and families during end-of-life.
Primary Work Days: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Compensation: $65.00 per visit
Mileage: Reimbursed between patient visits
Educational/Degree:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Training/Licensure:
Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the State of Colorado
Knowledge/Skills/Ability:
· Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills
· Ability to provide compassionate care to terminally ill patients
· Ability to document accurately in EMR systems (KanTime preferred)
· Acceptance of and adaptability to diverse social, cultural, and religious backgrounds
Experience:
Minimum one (1) year experience as a CNA preferred
Hospice or home health experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and repositioning patients. Must be able to safely assist with transfers and mobility.
Mental Requirements:
Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and respond appropriately in patient care situations. Must demonstrate emotional stability and professionalism in end-of-life care.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in patient homes throughout the Denver Metro area. Exposure to varying home environments and conditions, including pets, odors, and bodily fluids. Travel between patient visits required.
