    Work Schedule:

    • Part Time (24 hours Weekly) (every third weekend and holiday)

    • Night Shift 7:30pm-7:00am

    This position works for the Hospice of Cincinnati Central Inpatient Unit in Blue Ash. The hours are 7p-7:30a (night shift). Must be willing to float to the 3 inpatient care centers (Anderson, Hamilton and Christ), continuous care and Vigils as needed. Mileage reimbursement is offered when floating. Conducts bedside shift reporting, point of care charting and demonstrates flexibility. Knowledge of computer systems, basic keyboarding skills and able to perform computer related tasks.

    Manager Comments: 12-hour shifts, every third weekend/holiday, must have reliable transportation, mileage reimbursement when floating.

    Job Overview:

    The Hospice Aide I provides direct patient care to Hospice of Cincinnati patients under the direction of a nurse. The hospice aide will assist with, and/or perform basic activities of daily living, including bathing, feeding, assistance with ambulation, etc., and will serve as a provider of companionship and emotional support, even during times of crisis. The position is responsible for knowing safety policies and following approved procedures.

    Job Requirements:

    High School Diploma or GED 2 years of high school education in general studies (Required)

    6 months- 2 years Previous Healthcare Experience (Required)

    Reading and Math ability appropriate to the position.

    Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 Days Required

    Job Responsibilities:

    Performs and documents basic patient care tasks under the direct supervision of a nurse, including bathing, feeding, assistance with ambulation, providing companionship and emotional support, even during times of crisis; follows regulatory and organizational processes and practices to promote a safe clinical environment.

    Communicates effectively with the patient's interdisciplinary team, including patient and patient family members.

    Performs equipment and supply related quality checks and reports problems/malfunctions appropriately.

    Monitors supply rooms, reports missing supplies, restocks supplies as needed.

    Complies with regulatory and organizational documentation requirements to ensure accurate reporting of clinical interactions and patient status; ability to demonstrate a basic understanding of technology for documentation purposes.
