What You'll Do

As a Hospice CNA, you'll partner with patients, families, nurses, and other members of the hospice care team to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care.

Your responsibilities will include:

Providing Personal Care & Comfort

  • Assist patients with daily living activities and personal care needs while promoting comfort, dignity, and quality of life.

Supporting Patient Well-Being

  • Observe and monitor patient condition, report changes to the clinical team, and contribute to care that is responsive to each patient's individual needs.

Creating a Safe & Supportive Environment

  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable setting for patients through light household support and adherence to infection control and safety practices.

Partnering with Families & the Care Team

  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, nurses, and other team members to ensure coordinated, compassionate care.

Maintaining Professional Standards

  • Participate in required training, follow agency policies and procedures, and respond to scheduling and patient care needs in a timely manner.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current & valid Michigan CNA license, required.
  • Valid Michigan driver's license and your own reliable transportation, required.

Preferred

  • 1 year of CNA experience in long-term care, home health, or hospice.

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong communication, observation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated compassion, professionalism, and commitment to quality patient care.

Schedule & Compensation

  • Employment Type: Full Time, Monday - Friday
  • Hours: 32-40 hours per week
  • Shift: Day Shift, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
  • Additional Schedule: No weekends or holidays.
  • Travel: Throughout the community to see patients in-home and in skilled nursing facilities; mileage reimbursement provided.
  • Pay Rate: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour, based on experience and licensure.
